The Northern Plains are more habitable, being closer to the forest than the Southern Plains. More greenery and trees are located here, giving more reason for plant life to be found. Herds generally stay around this area, only going south if the food here becomes scarce. Since the Pali live move here quite a few times during their lifetime, they have created permanent homes here that they will move back into once they enter this area again. A small tributary runs from the forest through the Northern Plains, providing fresh water for the Pali here.
